The ability for organizations to identify and select effective leaders appears to be more important today than ever. Over the past several decades, many different individual characteristics have been used, such as job experience, general mental ability (IQ), emotional intelligence (EQ), various personality traits, and numerous knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs). More recently, the concept of “learning agility” has been mentioned as a critical attribute for successful leadership. It would seem that if leaders are not agile, other employees won’t be agile and therefore organizations without learning agile leaders would not be able to adapt, thrive, or survive during these turbulent times.
